Core Sessions

Start Here · Level 1 The Foundation You've stood in front of a great image and felt it — this session explains why. You'll discover the single structural idea beneath centuries of enduring images — from Monet to Picasso to Kurosawa. Level 2 · Prerequisite: Level 1 Going Deeper — More to Discover Level 1 introduced the core principle. Level 2 completes the picture — a comprehensive framework for how balance works across the full range of great images, not just the majority case. You'll also learn the Anchor/Pivot technique: a practical method for finding images that are invisible to the naked eye. Most photographers spend years chasing ready-made scenes that practically don't exist. This technique ends that.

Special Sessions

Special Session · Prerequisite: Level 1 The Hidden Thread — Three Artists. Two Centuries. One Secret. Cartier-Bresson. Kertész. Robert Frank. You've felt their work. But what were they actually doing? Something hiding in plain sight — and you'll recognise it the moment you see it. Group Session · Prerequisite: Level 1 Open Door — Bring Something You Love Bring an image. Any image — one you're proud of, one that puzzles you, or one you've always loved without knowing why. A warm, lively session. No taste police. No insider language.

One-on-One

One-on-One · Prerequisite: Level 1 The Guided Seeing Session — Live, Wherever You Are
This one is unlike anything else — because it happens in real time, wherever you are. Via Zoom, your instructor sees exactly what you see through your phone's camera and guides you live through the experience of finding and composing an image. Your street. Your home. A park, a holiday, a Saturday afternoon. No after-the-fact feedback. Just hands-on discovery as it's happening. All you need is a smartphone and a data plan.
